Can D90 extract still frames from a video?

After the D90 takes a video clip, then can D90 (or a software) extract the frames out of the video file? If that's possible, it's basically better than D90 doing the 4.5FPS in continuous shooting. Does any of you know the answer? Thank you.
 
yes you can extract frames with any decent video editer (vegas, adobe premiere, etc...).

But you have to remember that the d90 only shoots in 720p wish is roughly 1366x778 resolution and a d90 photo is 5,***x 4,*** (12.3mp)
so if you do take a still from a video its around 1megapixel image, which very terrible for any serious photography
 
XtremeElemenT, I understood. You are saying cropping still photos out of the captured video is not a practical method of obtaining good quality photos. Thank you for the info.
