candid/informal school hallway photography

Just kinda wondering what people think of my photos. I've only recently got into film photography and ive fallen for it majorly. My favorite is just random pictures of the people i have around me both expecting and not subjects. Please reply with your own or if anyone wishes to see more of my work. Thanks

It's out of focus and the shadow on the face covers to much of the face.

Yup, focus is off ... and that sunlight on the wall threw off your auto exposure metering (I am assuming you shot auto).

I always liked Candid/Street photography. Did a lot of that when wandering around.
I used to take the prism off my Canon F-1 and shot from the hip.

What camera are you using ?

For black and white film i use an old Ricoh kr-10 slr just a basic replaceable camera with cheap good lens. I often find that its auto is a bit wonky with weird light situations but i think it sometimes can get good results as long as it is not anything serious.

"Street" or "candid" still need to be in focus and well framed in order to turn a snapshot into an image worthy of note. It's a difficult genre to do well as you have to be really quick with camera control and be able to 'see' the image even before bringing the camera up to your eye.

The second image shows you still need to practice some more, but don't give up. Improvement only comes from taking photos and self evaluating those images very critically. Is the subject in focus? Is the image properly exposed? Do all the elements in the frame contribute positively? Does the image tell a story? Does they image convey emotion? Is the image worthy of being presented?

That all is very true, thanks for the advice and i am trying too improve as i take more and more pictures but me self evaluating has been mixed and i think using this forum will help the process. Thanks
