Cannot Download Movies From SD Card

Problem #1

I attended a large car show in June and found that I had left my PNY optima 4GB card at home. My freind loaned me his card for the day. Later, I put my card back in and my camera was unable to read it. I called PNY and they were no help. I purchased a Lexar Multi-Use 4GB and began shooting again. What happened to the PNY?

Problem #2

I shot and downloaded movies last Fall with the PNY but have not been able to download movies since (even with the Lexar).. The still movies download fine. I use a card reader and they download through Adobe Photoshop and also download unto WIndows "Pictures". I tried to view the movies through my BlueRay but had not luck. I find myself manually deleting still shots after download so as to make room on the card and also so that I do not delete my movies. This is very cumbersome.

When I placed my freinds card in my camera, it formated. When I placed the Lexar card in the camera it did not. Am I to manually format new cards? I have been using digital for eight years and do not know the answer which makes me think the answer is no.

Neither the PNY or the Lexar downloaded movies.

With the limited information you've provided, not much more I can suggest other than try some sort of recovery software. Don't worry.... I'm sure the spammers will find this thread soon enough and inundate it with links to their software.
