Buying my first camera. Decided to go with the Canon 20d (after another forum thread). Two choices of lens. Both 18-55mm. Either EF-S II or EF-S IS. There's only a £10 difference. I don't understand the benefits of II vs image stabilisation. Should I go with image stabilisation or not? I'm planning to use the camera for a little bit of everything but mainly photographing people in public. Also as a secondary thing any faults you find with my choice are welcome. Thanks.

From all I have heard and read the IS kit lens outperforms the non-IS one

For the Canon standard zoom kit lens, the newer one with IS is optically better than the older generation. If the different is only £10, I will go with the IS version.
