Canon 350D/Rebel XT

I want to start photography. I want to do nature photography (animals, foliage, anything natural) and action shots (mountain biking, maybe skiing).

would the canon suit my needs? I don't want to spend a ton of money as this will be my first real camera.

and i have this lens which I don't know if it will work (or if it even works)

The Rebel XT would certainly be a great camera for anything you would want to do.

I don't know about that lens. Does it have a Canon EF mount? Was it used on a Canon EOS camera? If so, then it should work. If not, then no...it probably won't work.
