Canon 400D Flash Help

Hi peeps, this question may seem weird but does anyone know how to make the flash work all the time, even in daylight? Im using my studio lights connected with a hotshoe adaptor, but where its light where i have my setup, they are not flashing. I need them to flash to gain the 'clean white' background, instead of seeing the creases etc

I'm confused, and don't understand the question. Which flashes? Are you triggering them off-camera? How? What are you using as a trigger?

they are wired via a hotshoe adaptor. But the camera is recognising that it is daylight and not needing a flash, hence not firing them

Shoot in a mode that isn't auto?

tried that, still only flashes when its really dark

Are you sure you didn't get off auto? Set you camera to full manual (M on the wheel thing) set the exposure and then shoot. It should work.

I'm still confused. In daylight? Are you trying to do this outside (daylight) or inside (clean white background)?
