canon 400d with revue objektiv 1:1.4 = f 55 mm (macro)

Hello,

i am looking for some good macros with low f stops like F1.4 for my canon 400d. I kind of like the f1.4 50mm from canon, though they are quite costly. I recently found a second hand

revue objektiv 1:1.4 = f 55 mm (macro)
With an M42 to EOS adaptar, it will fit my camera. I know this means no auto focus no auto metering. complete manual. I don't mind that.

Is this lens good? Worth 30€?? I heard the revue lenses had some cromatic abrevation problems. But with my digital 1.6 crop factor this may not be critical.

Please advise.

What about a 50mm F1.8...a nice lens and much cheaper than the 50mm F1.4.

For Macro, you could get extension tubes to use with the 50mm.
