For the money, it's pretty much impossible to beat - you will not find a better lens for less money.

Are you talking about only Canon lenses? I ask because the Nikon 50mm 1.8D is only about $10 more than the Canon and is a great lens in its own right.

I was - but even if the Nikon one was better, what I said would still be true.
