good / bad? Found one super cheap dont need the 580ex just need something i can bounce off a ceiling. I also heard it was not e-ttl compatible?

I bought it. For 50 bucks, pretty decent. I shoot full manual mode anyway when I'm using an external flash on any of my rigs. Just need to get a diffusor.

E-TTL is wonderful with on camera flash. It would be very dumb not to use the technology if you do any kind of event photography.

Yeah I'm trying to sell one of my APS-C lenses if I do I'm going to put the cash in a 580ex or at least a 480ex, but for now this works well for drunkards in a bar, which is what I do once a week. 95% of the time I use natural light. If anything, I can use it on my 35mm's. Never had something beefy like this.

And it's actually a 540ez.
