Canon 55-200mm USM Lens any good?

Is that Lens any good, does anybody have it?

I have one of these, for a built to a price lens it does a reasonable job. There is some distortion at the edge of the lens (which is less of a problem on a dSLR than with film).

It is light weight which is an advantage, but lacks options of its bigger (and more expensive) brothers such as IS or even a lens hood.

Mine is still used occasionally, but has been replaced with a 70-200mm F4L.

If you get it for the right price though, and you are not expecting the world, go for it.
