Canon Telephoto Lenses

Right, just pondering on getting my first telephoto lens.

Came across this one and it is within my rough price range and range of functions, barring of course a greater f stop.

But would anyone have any scathing reviews on this particular lens or be able to suiggest one in a similar price range of similar functionality that would be superior?

I have ordered this lens!! but the USM version at a cheaper price than that! I bought it off eBay Buy It Now theres plenty of them make sure you shop around. The reviews and people i have spoke to have said it is a great lens and worth the price!

I've got this lens myself and would definitely recommend it. The USM feature is something worth paying a bit extra for, it makes focusing a lot quieter and faster.
