Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
Let the battle begin.

Both are good mid-range cameras but which one should I get.
For skateboarding so it will have the occasional 1 in a million shot and the occasional videos for the tricks.

Help me choose!! I'm edging to the Nikon so far but the Canon got faster shutter, and continuous shots.

I'm using the DSLR for photos I just will use it for light video work whenever I don't bring my camera

You wanna shoot video? Buy the Canon.

If your looking for that 'perfect timing' shot, have you considered the Nikon v1? It can capture full res photos at 60FPS...

If Derrel says the Canon is better for video it probably is, I'm just yanking his chain a little. I can't speak for the 7D but I have had a D7000 for about a year and truly enjoy the camera. I haven't regretted the decision once since getting it.

Here is a Snapsort comparison. Canon 7D vs Nikon D7000

It's neck and neck :S
And to clarify for people the camera i'm using will be a GoPro :P Nothing fancy.

you get much more bang for your buck on the D7000, 100% range finder, 39 focuse points, great quality body, one of the best low light sensors out there for crop cameras, you get non of this on the canon 7d, the canon is MAYBE better in video (6 more frames on full HD, YAWNnn), the d7000 shoots also 6 frames per second on burst.

Not knocking the nikon but the 7d has 100% viewfinder and 19 cross point autofocus points for a very sophisticated and customizable autofocus and is a very well made camera despite what the non canon hierarchy say. Fwiw I do like nikon also and may have went that way if starting out again but there is no denying the 7d is a fine machine

Well said but to me I'm now convinced Nikon D7000 is the biggest bang for your buck
I can get Nikon D7000 with Twin Lens kit 18-55mm VR and 55-200mm VR for around $1400 All I need now is a fish eye and I'm set.

Although If anything I won't be buying for at least a week so if anybody can change my mind :P

-Extra: If someone can find me just a cheap $200 or less fisheye for my camera that'll be awesome ?

I would argue with you, but your completely right! The D7000 is the best bang for buck camera you can buy, its as simple as that really!

My dad has just got one and whilst playing with it, I realised it's quite an upgrade to my D90. It is the sort of camera you would find it hard to outgrow. Outstanding 16 MP picture quality with simply incredible dynamic range and a part mag alloy body to add to it.

I think you will be happy

The video quality between the two cameras would set the 7D ahead of the Nikon.
