Canon EOS Rebel T3, $449 from Amazon, good beginner camera?? 1st DSLR for me.

Hello All,
Can you guys help me out... i'm a total noob. I've never used a DSLR camera, but want some good image quality for landscapes and sunsets, moon shots, etc. Canon EOS Rebel T3 is on sale at Amazon for $449. Is this a good camera for me? Are there better ones for the price? Please advise!! Here is the link below. Thanks so much for any tips and insights.

The T3 does not have Spot metering mode which is very useful for Sunset and Moon shots, but is a good beginner camera non the less. http://www.thephotoforum.com/forum/photography-equipment-products/263835-camera-beginner.html

The next step up, the T21, does have Spot metering, but lacks the color-aware metring the newer T3 has and of course costs more. Canon EOS Rebel T2i 18 MP CMOS APS-C Digital SLR Camera with 3.0-Inch LCD and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens

Good image quality is more about the skill and knowledge of the photographer than the camera.

For landscapes, sunsets. and Moon shots you'll also need a good steady tripod, and some decent graduated neutral density filters.
