I have a pile of FD lenses that belong to a friend who wants $50 for them. Do adapters really work, do I need different ones for different lenses. I know that they will only work in manual mode but for this price, I'm considering it.

50mm Prime
70-150mm Macro
35-105mm
75-300mm Macro
2x Teleconverter
2 flashes 277T 244T

My primary shooter is a Canon 1Ds.
i also have a Minolta X370 and SRT 101. Along with lenses from a Kiev 88 Screw Mount and a mamiya 645.

I have multiple adapters to use the old MC and MD lenses and a screw adapter for the Kiev/Salyut lenses. it is VERY much worth it to have glass (albeit manual everything) but that build the discipline.

So you will periodically see my 1Ds with an old 200 mm MC lens attached from a Minolta.

But with FD mount, you need to match the mount to the type of camera your shooting. EF, EFS, EFM or EFR. They ARE different.

I forgot to mention what my camera is. It's Nikon D5600 F mount.

Not a problem.
They exist. Look at the various photo supply web sites and ebay.
Note!!!!
The adapter will have an element in them. That is to adjust for the focal distance.
