Canon lenses... FD to RF

Errr I mean EF.

If I were to use an FD mount lens with my 50D; would the conversio ring thingy cause any degradation??? Like in the min/max aperture of the lens? or image quality?

I wouldn't be able to AF the FD mount would I?

Image quality usually suffers because those adapters use a single-element, rather cheesy piece of glass. No AF is possible with an FD mount lens, but there are some focus confirming adapters available. I bought a couple different ones of these adapters + glass element models to adapt some M42 SUPER-Takumars to Nikon bodies...they both took excellent Super-Takumar lenses and turned them in to infinity-focusing craptastic optics...

The results were actually worse than I had expected they would be, which made it rather disappointing.

Thanks Darrel. Someone offered a couple of them (no spec yet) for trade on the bass I am selling...

I knew I would need to purchase an FD to EF adapter... but wanted to know about the quality issues.

Unfortunately you are confirming what I suspected.
