Like most 'point & shoot' style digital cameras, they are probably pretty similar. Some of the parts may even have been made in the same factory by either of these companies or a 3rd party.

I'd suggest going into a camera store and playing with them in the flesh. If one feels better to you, that may be enough of a reason to go with that one.

But of course, this being a photography forum, most of us would suggest looking at an SLR type digital camera. They are much better tools for creating images.
