Canon XTI Won't Power On

This is lovely, my Canon XTI won't power on. And I must have this camera for a scheduled photoshoot next weekend.

I bought it 2 months ago from Dell, it's worked beautifully until today when I went to use it and now it won't power on. I have 2 batteries, so I took the other battery I had on the charger off and put it in the camera and same thing. I flip the switch on and nothing, every now and then the power light will blink once but that's it.

Anyone with an XTI experience this?

send it in for repairs and in the meantime, use a rental.

Hmmm. I could of sworn when I first got my 20D ages ago I had a similar problem. I tried the whole battery swap thing to no avail. Someone mentioned to me to:

1) leave the power switch on and than
2) remove the battery
3) Than wait a minute and insert the battery again.
I tried it and the problem never occurred again. Granted this was like 3 years ago so I am not completely sure of the details. Worth a try anyway. If not call Canon.

make sure the card door is shut all the way. Try removing and reinstalling the lens too.
