can't decide on the two

I can't decide which one I favor most. Help on choosing which one would be appreciated. I like the milkiness in 1...but i also like the vivid detail in 2.

Well,

of the 2 I like the first, milky one. The other one is just a picture of a tree and doesn't do much for me. Interestingly enough, the processing on the first gives it something, not sure what but it does.

The horizon/tree line dissecting your main subject is the problem, compositionally I mean. The softer version lessons it as a distraction but still ruins the shot IMO. I like the vertical orientation as well as what you were going for with the color treatment.

I would go for the second one. I like the "dreamy" look from picture one, but IMO its a bit over the top, too dreamy. The second has some nice contrasts and is crispier. I like the vignetting on that kind of pictures, gives them some soul

Althou I see the problem in the horizon, too. If the horizon would be in the lower third of the frame, the tree could be more in focus and stand out as the main subject. Maybe I'am wrong, because the grass would disturb the tree than....?

Well how are we supposed to know which he favors?

He likes them equally. He should just keep both.
