The first one is the most level of the two....the light green band under the mountains is the "level" for the picture....the barn itself is leaning in ALL directions, it's not structurally "square" at ALL ....as I was standing there looking at it, that when I determined that the distant green patch under the mountains was what I needed to go off of when post processing

In this photo above, when you zoom the original and lower that line to the bottom of the your screen, it's level

In your recrop (above), it's slanted down on the right side....while the building may look more square, the horizon line is "off"

My second photo (my least favorite of the two, I've come to realize) is a little "off" level as well.....my fault during post processing.....plus the barn is "too big" for the rest of the scene....

Number one for me. I like the ratio of building to background better in this shot. But honestly, both are very nice images.

I think the problem might be the lens creating slight distortion in levels.

Nicely done! I like the second one over the first one because the small cloud in the center tends to draw the eye away from the cabin.
