CC, priceless expression, Daddy/son, goofing off in the backyard

Here are a couple. The white tees were not planned, they were playing basketball in the driveway and I asked them to stop for a couple shots. I love to capture expressions more than a pose. This wasn't planned, so I know I should have used some flash fill. I shot these RAW, so any suggestions to make them better? This is my hubby and youngest son.....

For unplanned shots, these aren't that bad. I would switch to portrait for the top one to avoid cutting off your sons feet. His face is priceless, hubby looks like he just farted and your son can't control the laughter!

These look pretty good. I like the candid, unplanned shots better myself. I like the laughter in #1.
You did a good job processing the RAW pics, though I think you WB could be a touch warmer.

Making it warmer would be an easy fix Love shooting RAW.

I think the weakness of these is that you haven't looked at them closely to balance out the tones and colors and then cropped to put the important things where the important things should go. The first is a bit contrasty but makes a better look when 'corrected' and cropped.

The second one will make a wonderful B&W, I think. after balancing the tone values a bit. The colors just distract from a great moment.

I must say Lew, you have "the eye". You B&W edit is amazing. Completely different feeling. At first, I thought it was a 3rd picture.

I have this in B&W, and love lews edit of the first one, but the B&W makes my son's face look a bit spotty?? It's a much better B&W than mine though!

TBH, I should have spent more time on the details like pre-spotting your son't face but I am always in a rush.
