Ceiling Arches

I went to a building today with a large vaulted ceiling with these amazing arches for support , I thought they would look good in black and white. Commentary would be greatly be appreciated thanks.

First picture is I think interesting. I like this repeating pattern.

I like the second one better for the simple pattern and the tonal range. It might have been even better taken a step to the left so there was more in the right side of the frame, or not, depending on what was there.
