The rice trick DOES work. Dropped my phone in the pool a few years ago trying to talk and skim leaves at the same time. Should have stuck to walking with gum. Phone was fine, no worse for wear once it dried out. I did immediately fish it out so it was not under for long and it was in a case - just a cheap plastic case, not an otter box or anything. Still have the phone and am finally going to upgrade... But that's another thread entirely.

its in the rice now. im going to give it a couple days, and probably then order another one if it doesn't work. which will take at least a week to come in. so about two weeks with no cell calls. hmm.
