Photos NOT OK to edit

Taken at around twilight, this photo shows Centre Georges Pompidou (Beaubourg), a library and modern art museum in the centre of Paris in black and white. No matter what you think of the contents of this beautiful building, it already stands alone as a work of art.

Hope you like the photo.

Thanks for telling us what we should think... lol.

However, considering what surrounds this factory like piece of crap, I am not going to agree with you. It does remind me of its namesake in the way that it is totally bloated and mindless.

May I ask how old you are? I have a feeling you were not around when Pompidou was or when this beauty was built...

Ha ha, funny angry old man. I actually love photographing angry old men; they make great subjects for portraits. Let me know if you are based in Paris, we can meet up. You can insult my opinion as much as you like and I can photograph those lovely wrinkles of yours.

You'd be very disappointed in my wrinkles but I don't think I'd be disappointed in your mindlessness.

Take C&C like a man or get out of the kitchen.

Dude, you didn't actually provide C&C.

Let me evaluate your initial post:

First Paragraph, you thanked the OP for "telling you" what to think about the building.

Second Paragraph, You disagreed with the OP's viewpoint on the construction and visual appeal of the building. You then equated it to being "bloated and mindless." Which to me doesn't appear to be any type of critique or constructive criticism.

Third Paragraph, you asked the OP's age (which has no bearing on the photograph whatsoever) and passive aggressively belittled him because he wasn't around when Pompidou was.

So please, tell me. Where's the C&C in your post? What could the OP do to make this image better? What about his processing bothers you? Is there an error in composition in your opinion?

Perhaps I'm interpreting your post wrong.

But I'm not.

Funny old man.

I would also like to know how you proved any C&C?

Let's leave the issue of nationalities completely out of this international forum. If DP does not like to picture; say so. what DP just wrote is unintelligent and merits no mention. These remarks should be expunged from the records. What are you talking about? You liked one of DP's posts... in this thread. FYI.

I like B and W for this sweet picture.....have no opinion about the architecture...but I like reading you guys posts....HA!

Oh, I'll actually give some criticism!

With this many squares and triangles, anything off kilter will drive OCD folk bonkers. It looks like you might have a slight barrel effect causing the horizontal lines to curve downward at the ends (particularly on the upper right side).

First of all, I like both picture and place. I also agree with MrDandyMan that, due to the kind of picture, it is better to have almost perfect lines. However, they can be cured with LightRoom or any other PP software.
I wonder if you also tried to work on a color version. If I remember well, there should be room for some naturally selective color, being mostly grey plus some highly colored details (although I imagine that reflections might add confusion). I was there in pre-dSLR age, so pictures I took are far from minimum standards - a reason to come back? :)

:lmao:. This is one of those...one flew over the cuckoo nest moments for me!

I like this shot personally and I think the B&W does it justice. However, I keep getting the feeling like it's just slightly tilted to the left. I see it most at the top and can't quite tell if it's an illusion created by the black structure at the top left corner or not.

some very good c&c, thanks. I think there is some distortion. I need to take a look again maybe at the orignal files. I seem to remember measuring the gaps and finding none, but I too do have that feeling......
