Checking image sharpness

At what point in Lightroom is zooming in too much? When I use the 4:1 ration images start to look blury, at 2:1 they seem ok. Does this mean my images are not as sharp as they should be or is 4:1 just too much?

I'm NOT a LR expert, but I think "maybe" the size of the previews you have LR set to generate "might" be a factor in how much zoom-in can be done before the images break up...

Do you have LR set to "Generate Full-size Previews"?

Again...I dunno...just spitballing here.

Image usage determines how sharp it needs to be, in that images destined for print need to be a bit sharper than images destined for electronic display.
