Checking the Shot

This was at the St Louis Hispanic Festival during the presentation of the flags. I wanted to shoot video, but the photographer was standing in the center. He knelt down to check his shot or change the settings? I did get a short video clip when the the circle of people exited to my left past me and that vantage point ended up better.
