Chestnut Wood-Quail

This is a female because of all the dark gray on it's chest. It is a Colombian endemic and considered near threatened. You hear them frequently but almost never see them unless they are crossing a road. They're very secretive. Landed on a rainwater drain this morning.

There is reported to be a total population of under fifteen thousand and it is classified as "near threatened" on the red list.
