Brrrrr!! We have officially reached cold over the past couple days, -30 with the windchill! ack! All the wee birds were standing on one foot while they warmed the other, it's amazing their wee feet survive such cold!

This one is a little more blue/cooler but I think it suits it.

PR, I am assuming because you live in the same country that I do, that your -30° is Celsius which equates to -22° for those on the Fahrenheit scale. Regardless, it is still COLD. To top if off it is also snowing here and Environment Canada says to expect 10 to 40 cm (4-16in.) of the white stuff depending on where you are in this great province - folks closer to the mountains get more. Hard to imagine that at this time yesterday it was +5° C and partly sunny - oh the vagaries of winter weather here in the foothills.

I like the Chickadee pics - the first one is my favourite (same bird?).

Thanks WG :) yep officially cold no matter what scale you use lol

It might be the same bird, they always come with friends so its hard to keep track or tell them apart.

I too like the 1st one best. You seem to have a way with the smaller birds. I can never seem to get them without out of focus branches in foreground. Very nice!

I think you're brave just taking your gear out in that crazy weather.

Nice shots for sure! Are you really outside taking these? I'd be shooting thru the window, my body can't take below 0 temps ;)

Really great shots. I've noticed they always travel with friends too. One to distract you while the other steals seeds.

Thanks all! While I'd love to claim being a hardy Canadian and the cold doesn't bug me I have to admit I'm shooting these from the bay window in my bedroom in the interest of not freezing myself or my gear chasing songbirds lol
