Children Photography C&C (6 Pictures)

My friend asked me to take pictures of her kids, I could not but say yes. I never took pictures of children before, mostly keeping with still life, or my model friend. I saw this as an opportunity to shoot different subjects, in a different (much more dynamic ) setting.

I kept with warmer tones in post processing, children, youth, warm. I also wanted the colours to really pop out without murdering your eyes.

The background is not best, I only wanted to try the wide angle on them, see how it turns out. Complicated to edit as the left (our right) side of the girl's face was shaded, while the middle nose portion of the boy was whitewashed. This picture surprised me. Here is another with the wide angle:

I have a feeling I could have brought out more in the previous shot, I'm just not sure how or what. (Lensbaby Single Glass f/4, same optic and f/ for all Lensbaby shots)

He especially likes to run towards the Camera. Being with a Lensbaby and no autofocus, I'm actually happy about how well these turned out. For this one it created a more dynamic and, dare I say, heroic look? He does have those. Here is another with the Lensbaby:

I really enjoy how classy that last one turned out, as though out of a Sears Catalogue.

Would greatly appreciate any and all constructive criticisms, tips and insights.
I have a few more from this shoot if needed.

#3 is my fave! I'm not a fan of the lens baby shots as they seem soft.
