It's hard to pass up such a beauty.. I visited him a few times today, and he visited me once. He takes off with no warning so I am having a hard time catching him in flight because I'm always so close, lol.. I even took my Tamron 180 Macro lens out just to see.. comments welcome

5 This is what I mean.. He jumped out of his tree and grabbed a frog at the exact same time I looked to my right and looked at an incoming Osprey, but I was too slow to react and he took off in the other direction.. Oh well, I will just keep trying..
FAILED....

Lovely bird, I especially fancy the second photo :)

That Tamron is some lens!!!

Awesome shooting!

Kris you set the standard for sure.

Thanks everyone! I thought the comparison of the macro lens to the big Tamron was interesting. It is pretty close in sharpness especially under 400mm. Obviously I wouldn't go birding with the macro lens, lol since 180mm is a little limiting, but it was a fun test... :D

In #2 he looks like he has some swag...lol
Nice shooting as always!
