Chinon Tripod Quick Release

Evening all,

I have recently got into photography and a friend of mine has give me his tripod, however he said I need to get a quick release part for the camera.

I have had a good look on the trusted google, and I can't seem to find anything at all that I am after. Any help?

First off, Welcome to the forum.

Is that made of plastic??? The first picture sure looks like it. Is the locking lever made of plastic as well? And does that locking lever have a lock so it cannot accidently be knocked open? It might say made in Germany, but the quality of that tripod is highly suspect!
