I agree with Ken about the Nikon 18-200mm VR lens.
I had one, gave it an honest tryout, but was never pleased with it. Seemed to do the lens creep it wasn't supposed to do, the VR was irritatingly noisy (you could hear clicking) anytime the lens felt movement, and the IQ wasn't any better, if even as good, as the 55-200mm VR kit lens I already had.
I believe I would be much more interested in the Sigma 18-250mm or the Tamron 18-270mm lenses than I ever would be in the Nikon 18-200mm VR.
And I L-O-V-E my Sigma 18-50mm constant f/2.8 HSM Macro lens.
