Choosing the right body & lens

, ...... my photo business isn't very popular at all yet. Been almost a month running and I only have 27 fans on Facebook. Kinda depressing, lol. :-D

So you have a photo business going! I hope the cornerstone of the marketing segment of your business plan (You have a business plan don't you?) is a bit more solid than a facebook account.

A business takes a lot of time, effort, knowledge and dedication for it to even have a fighting chance of survival.

Dear TS, I can vouch for the D5000, as I got one a little over 3 weeks now. Got it with the 18-200 VRII (Sells for 568 euros in the store I work in)
It does everything you'll need to do, and as I like to do night photography, ISO's are allright. I'd rather have a 5100 because of the D7000 sensor in there, but honestly that's a first world problem. One thing about the D5000, the LCD is not as good as the 3100, 5100 or any other in that segment. 100k dots vs 900k on the newer models might get you little surprises as you open your pictures in your computer. If you're concidering a 70-300, go for it. Great autofocus and a well built lens, as I've sold them many times to happy customers. 18-55 is a great lens. Sharp as hell, VR lets you capture everything at quite slow shutters and the distortion on there is near nothing. Only downside would be the rotating filter thread as you focus, making polarizers pretty annoying to use, if you're into that. My suggestion: Just buy it. You will not regret a single thing about it.
