Merry belated christmas TPF.

Okay okay I lied I got it on boxing day but still. I managed to get my hands on the last af-s 35mm 1.8G that was in stock anywhere in the lower mainland. Up to 2 hours outside my town.
I didn't per say need the lens but have wanted to get into portrait photography, (been on MM trying to land a shoot). I heard this is one of the better lenses to use for portraiture, I read reviews and that's what I got. Does anybody have any personal experience? Own this lens? Have anythign to say about it? Would love to hear back.

Congrats on getting the lens! I would think the focal length is a little short for traditional portraiture, but may be useful for full body or 3/4 shots in small indoor spaces. Have fun, and post up some shots!

I also have this lens and the angle is pretty wide for a portrait. I actually can get better portraits on my 55-200mm VR. Maybe I'm such a noob I don't know how to use my 35 xD

Hmm yeah I heard ti was a great prime portrait lens so I picked it up. Reviews all agreed.

Excellent lense, never came off my body since purchase ... until Christmas, when I got my Sigma 10-20.
