I have been on this forum for a period of time now but for the love of GOD, I cannot use the "search" function and get any results. I have tried everything. I've done an advanced search, looked for "posts" only, "subject" only, in forums, etc, and I cannot find shinola!

For example, I did a search for the "Just for Fun" forum which I KNOW exists, but it ALWAYS comes back with no matches. WTF? :x

What am I doing wrong?

Oh, don't get me started on the 30 second search function. That's a separate issue that drives me EFFing insane. I'm just talking about ANY search, 30 seconds or not. I never get a single hit--EVER. What is UP with that???

I was trying to find the "Just for Fun" forum without having to go digging for it. I found it eventually, but doing a search for the word "fun" yielded nothing.

Interestingly enough, I did a search for the term "loser" and ALL of Schwetty's posts came up--go figure?

Hmmm, if you want a certain forum, why not go to the Forum heading in the top banner at the top of the page?

Or... if you view posts by "New Posts", the forum each thread is started in is listed on the far right.

The idea of the Search function, at least my use of it, is to find threads or topics of interest by keyword search and members by member name. Often I will use a combination.

BTW, if you want to find my self portraits.... the best keywords old fart, grey hair or simply... dumbass.

Just for Fun won't appear in the search results because its not a thread nor post; its a subsection (somewhere on the search page is a long list if sections and you can specify that your search only be conducted in one subforum section). Best way to get to it is to go to the forum page (big forum button at teh top of the page) and then just scroll down to the bottom

The whole wait 30 seconds search concept...when does that date back to?? The 14.4 modem days? Servers with 33 megahertz buses on 100 megahertz processors, with 4 megabytes of slow,slow,old-school RAM? Pshaw...
