Ps. Still not telling, you'll have to google lens it to find out if ya wanna know.

Do you need an app?
I have an IPhone 6.
It doesn't support much of anything.
Never heard of Google Lens.
Am I writing in italics? How did that happen?

Are you asking us to use the app to identify it?
Only found in Australia?
Did you vote for bird of the year?
Female, very dimorphic.
Great detail, DOF and background!

Yes i guess.

On the Samsung devices it's integrated into the Google Photos app, but there is also a separate app called Google Lens.

Never heard of Google Lens.
You have now🤣.

Yes, magic🤪.

Only if you wanna learn something new😉... i love Google Lens makes identifying things so quick & it gets them right 98% of the time too.

Where, here on the forum somewhere?

Female, very dimorphic.
Nah a male, the females are brown and cream.

They have a blue tail all the time but they turn electric blue & black come mating season.

Swear my bloody tablet deletes photos on me from my library, theres a Wren pic where he's in mating plumage sitting on a post by the lake 🤬. Still better be on the old laptop or im gonna be pissed.

Nice shot of a Wren, I think ... ?
Indeed Mr the Jeff, a Superb Fairy Wren.

From what I understand, your Wren was voted bird of the year 2021.

Human creative thought still beats A.I. hands down.
I've found that I can beat A.I. in so many categories.
Did Google Lens find this?
The one pictured is male however.
Yours is female.

Poor Tawny Frogmouth and Gang-Gang Cockatoo.

Superb Fairy Wren.webp

No, male with none bonking plumage. I fired up the ancient laptop and found the missing pic I wanted.

Well, what I found was very hard to understand.
I thought no blue on the head was female.
Y'all have some really fine birds out there... down there... down under there.
How do y'all keep the blood from rushing to your head?
How do you not get dizzy watching water drain the wrong way?

You have one of the best Bird ID apps in the world, in Merlin, that supports research by Cornel University's ornithology department, and you use those corporate blood suckers google? I’d do it but Im not interested in downloading the Australian data pack onto my phone. But it does confirm Superb Fairywren

I didn't know about this bird id app, im gonna download it to see how it go's. It does sound id'ing from what i just read.

Our magpies impersonate sounds and other birds, not many do it though. My Daddy magpie does and its bloody brilliant hear & fkn funny too.

Years ago i heard all these different birds coming form one place in the backyard and i didn't know what the hell was going on. Turned out to be coming from him.

I've recorded him doing it, hes got at least 12 different bird impersonations but the 2 funniest ones is the police siren & the barking dog🤣.

Im not on Youtube to upload anything but there are 1 or 2 videos of someone else's magpie doing this, i might find the videos and put up a link if anyone would like hear.

But yeah i can't make out all the different calls he does so maybe this bird app might help👍.
