Clone XP from C Drive to another Internal Drive?

I have an XP PC that I use to stream music which runs 24-7. The XP OS is on a 60 gig HD and I would like to clone the OS to a 500 gig internal HD.
There is a windows program Driveimage XML that will copy disc to disc, but it is not as straight forward as in Mac? Any thoughts?

Driveimage will work but if you want an easy way to do that Nero's Back It Up is simple and straightforward.

Yep, you're right there; in this case Nero's Back It Up has a feature to image the drive. I've used it to image and transfer XP installs as well as Win 7.

Do any of these designate the new drive to the boot drive after cloning? XP is not so friendly.

If you do a full clone of a drive... with a working boot sector, and then restore that clone to another drive... it will be a fully functional boot drive. XP is much easier to do than Win7... and clonezilla does either with no issues. I use it for server 2008 imaging at work, since they won't let me buy Ghost Suite.

Have you ever done this before? It is best to make the image on an external drive or some other non boot drive that can be accessed by the software. After you have the image... totally remove the current boot drive (or unplug it) if you want to keep it safe until you can make sure you have a good bootable imaged drive. Since this sounds like your first time, be very careful.... it is very easy to accidentally overwrite a drive you want to keep, if you are not familiar with the process. Take every precaution to make sure you don't lose data... unplug the power on any other drives that are not needed while restoring the image... just be very careful!

I have using Carbon Copy to make a data doubler with a SSD on my Mac book Pro. Very easy, same concept. I am pretty confident I will know which drive to clone. It is making that drive recognizable as the boot drive that I am need to figure out. I only have the OS on the C drive and some programs. All data is backed up on external drives. Good advice~

The clone was successful. I physically changed the drives. I had it unplugged, etc. As I went to plug the power cord in I heard a small click which has resulted in sudden death. I thought I was grounded, took all precautions. If it is the mother board I will be looking for a new (used) PC or Mac? Thank you for all the help.

I did not have a power cable plugged in correctly. So Process is complete and functions. BUT now I have issues with XP admin settings. Files now say READ ONLY and I cannot download Input Director as it says I do not have correct permissions.... when I go to properties to uncheck read only, it does not stay unchecked. WOW... should of installed W7...

In case anyone is following. Clone was partially successful to a degree. I have severe permissions issue and with not being able to see the network connections. So I would say I messed up.
