Can others edit my Photos
Photos NOT OK to edit
I've been lucky to be able to shoot in a club for the past few months in LA and it's been one of the most challenging gigs ever. Here's a few of my faves. Welcome to critique and tips from anyone else who has done club stuff.

1. (Yes, yes I know some of the lighting is blown out here haha)

Very effective. Have you tried leaving the shutter open for longer and using the flash. Can create some nice effects.

whats ur shutter speed? f stp?and do you use a off camera flash? if so , do you turn it straight up or at a 45 degree angle? just curiious

crop out hand and dood in left hand side of #3, other than that very good ma man.

@photogaz: I will def try out more creative stuff next time I'm out there!
@cnutco and Brinr: Thanks!
@corvphotography: For my portrait type shots I generally keep my shutter speed around 1/8, 1/10 and f-stops between 3.2-3.4. But you're constantly changing settings as the lighting constantly changes so it is a little bit of a challenge. I keep my flash on camera and just tilt or rotate it as needed; the key is to use a diffuser of some sort. I got the Gary Fong one and it does wonders.

That club in particular gets super dark so I had to really push it up to 5200-6400

Your shots are not technically perfect by any stretch but that's not what club photography is about. You have done a good job capturing the vibe which is exactly why you were there, I suspect :)

I've done a little bit of club photography, but personally I'd prefer to be the DJ than the photographer!

Just one thing to watch out for is lasers in clubs, I've heard many horror stories of lasers hitting the camera sensor at just the wrong time (more of an issue when taking video) and frying it!

Yea its tough to get the right shot and then have it technically correct so much of the times b/c of the environment thats always changing. But I'd love to hear your C&C so I can improve. I wasn't aware about the lasers thing but I will def keep an eye out now! Thanks!
