Well the background is colorful.

Yes, very nice. Have you really zoomed or cropped in on their eyes? They are amazing - look like they belong on expensive jewelry.

yes, good thing they have nice looking eyes, cause I call them the ugly bird. haha

Mathew, nice shots. The first one is okay, but you cropped of part of his back end. Yes the background is very nice, but I would like to see the whole bird, at least that part of it that is visible above the water. I am also curious if the third one is a crop of the first one. Not that it matters, but if it is a crop it is still nice and sharp, which is a good thing for such a close crop. What lens were you using?

By looking at the photos, I don't think it's a crop on the first picture due to the water droplets on the head... Just a guess...

Matt, you are a sharp shooter. I agree on the beautiful background...

yeah I agree, I probably should

have more under the water, he was just surfacing.

the third is a different photo, it was cropped to 50% which ended up with 2400x1700 resolution, then resized to 1000x700 something.

here is the straight out of camera raw, maybe that helps. raws have pretty bland colors as nothing is added like JPG

its my workhorse the 500mm f4 vr, I use it about everyday...bare lens no TC, I only use a 1.7 sometimes now. I sold my 1.4 and im waiting to see if the version III of the 1.4 comes out, then I want to have that and a 2x III

I love the clarity of the beads of water in the first one!

Can you mount heavy missile turrets on those guys? How many hard points do they have?

(Sorry... Eve joke)

Beautiful shots!

the lens? oh it does enough damage without needing missiles. I constantly am smacking my rear view mirror with the lens when I reach for it out of the passenger seat and point it out my window. I hope I don't break my rear view mirror mounted radar detector

Good catch wackii - I didn't notice the water drops in the first one, but then I didn't "enlarge" it - lesson learned!

Very nice set -- I'd be very happy with any of these!
