Colorful Points

Well, I did crayons, and sidewalk chalk. Now it's time for some colored pencils.

Nice pattern. Tell me, did you sharpen those pencils ? My feeling is the colors are clean and very synthetic which is nice, but general fuzziness is not at par with it. You may actually like it but for me they should look yummy, not like the cheapest, unusable kind. Get some KOH-I-NOORs or better yet Faber Castell.

This is the way they came out of the box.. factory sharpened.

The 'fuzzyness' might be due to the resized for innerwebs posting. The original full-size image is sharp.

My comment would be light related
If this was my idea I would lit the pencils differently. Somehow when I see white bg I expect not so strong shadows (they gradually become stronger)

note: I'm seeing these on a crappy computer at work when everything is pronounced so don't listen to me

not sure how to take this, because you didn't ask what I would do... I would still lit them differently and my setup would be a bit different...

It's just my preference... I know...

When I see pencils and those colors and the wooden texture and their shape, I would like them to be the star of the show. That's what the white bg means for me. I don't want those shadows at all, competing with the colors and pencils like they are a legitimate element in this pict. a

No Sparky, fuzziness I had in mind comes from the wood the pencils are made of. But that's Ok. With this very simple set up you achieved nice effect.
