Colors of Spring

Went to the botanical gardens yesterday and got some shots of the bugs that are emerging for the warm weather.

1) Acronicta americana


2) Solenopsis invicta


3)Apis mellifera


4)Peucetia viridans


Edits include crops and some retouching to get the sensor dust out of the image and some sharpening but that is it. I would love to get your opinion on them. Thank you.

Other than the fact that the first one looks a little underexposed, these are great - thanks for sharing.

I did that on purpose. I had others that were evenly light but they were boring and flat. Does the lighting not appeal to you in it? I was trying to be a bit more creative but it may not have worked.

I was going to post that pic 1 had directional lighting that just added that something extra to separate it from the rest of your excellent set. I also really like how you handled the composition of picture 3.
