colouring black and white photo

I would like to get an old black and white photo (1954) coloured. Does anyone know of a place on the web where I can upload this to and get it coloured for a reasonable cost. I tried to do it myself with 2 programs that I got on trial - Fotofinish and Blackmagic but after hours of trying, I was not satisfied with the results.
Anyone out there know how to do it?

I'm not sure of any photo sites that will do it, but I did a quick google search and I found this software called blackmagic. Here's the site http://www.black-and-white-to-color.com/mainsite/
There is a downloadable demo on the site. I haven't tried it, but you might want to check it out.

You could always sponsor a contest on www.worth1000.com to color your picture. There are some amazing photoshop users there.

wow I was just looking at colouring black and white photos today. I found a tutorial, and I turned a black and white into colour in about 5 min. It looked kinda like computerish animation, but if you spent some more time i dont think it would be that hard depending what the photo is of. heres the link

I managed to get the girl like this without too much work. The skin tones are quite hard to do, and the hair is a bit tough.
