Both taken with D3100. The pin one is was done with a flashlight and no flash. And second one with SB-400

This is called *We all know our future*

I know this isnt the best execution, but I like the concept. How would you change it to make it better?

The finger is so orange it looks like a carrot.

I love the concept very much. The image posted needs it's white balance corrected.

How to make it better? Well, I'd like to see clean paper, perhaps a less harsh transition, a clean fold perhaps? I want to figure out how to get a complete shadow of the thumbtack, or if it would work getting the shadow to extend from the tack itself, up the wall. If that makes sense? I'd like a different view of the finger. I think showing the fingernail would read better, or be a nice detail. I also think framing it to show more of the finger, maybe including the first knuckle in a long tall image? Also, turn the tack to not show the injection mold sprue.

Persue this concept further! You are thinking very creatively! Make it work!

The Pasgetty shot is nice too. You are really using your noodle!

Real good stuff here, ill have to agree with what Bitter said about the white balance, i also want to add that the thumbtack should be out of sight and only its shadow on the wall with the finger. Love the second one it kind of reminds me of fiber optic strands from networking wire.

That would ruin the concept. It creates an entirely different story!

I'm definitely no pro in the matter, but I think I would have liked it more if the end result looked more like this:

It's refreshing to see new concepts though, keep at it!

I do think the finger should be more in focus than the thumbtack no?

i see what your saying Bitter.

I would have probably taken 1 in landscape and had more of the finger, possibly a little of the hand as well, coming in on the side. The concept is interesting.
