Concert Photography - Need lens advice please

I have been shooting concerts since 2002 and was wondering if anyone on here shot on a film camera? I love my digital camera, but lack of money and time prevent me from upgrading my equipment to compete with photographers that have L series lenses and the newest body. My pictures look great on the 30D, but seem to lack the crispness I am looking for. Would anyone out there be able to recommend a really good all around lens that is fairly inexpensive? I currently shoot using a Sigma 28-70 2.8/4. Nice lens, been shooting with it for 6 years, but I need something better for sure. Thanks in advance for any input/advice!

I shoot in film as well, just not as much.

EDIT: I don't really use the 50mm for anything.

For concert photography I use mainly my 135 f/2L on a 5D MkII... The length is great and the speed is good too.
