Considering upgrading my camera body

Recently I've been considering putting some funds toward upgrading my 400D camera body. It has a few shortfalls and I would like the chance to get a body that will expand upon what I can currently perform with the camera at a technical level (yesyes at the artistic level is all down to me - sadly I can't find an affordable replacement for me).


So with that in mind is the Canon EOS 3 worth considering as a not too bank breaking option or are their similar higher level models selling for a similar second hand price?

I would rather have a 400D...or a 30D...

how come? From what I can tell it was somewhere around the semi-pro area from the film era and its AF system appears to be more developed than the 400D (at least it has more AF points )
