Coopers Hawk / 3 cheers for raw file recovery!

I was happily grilling a tasty burger at dusk when this hawk lit upon an unfortunate quail. I dashed inside to grab my camera and fired the shutter. Camera was set at ISO 400 f/8 1/1000. I managed one shot in focus that was well underexposed.
I was disappointed to see this preview on the camera lcd:

But thanks to the magic of technology, here's the edit with +3.93 EV!

lot of + exposure in software...it is _amazing_ how far tech has come in about a decade.

Almost totally black...yet recoverable!

Yep, the burger got a little too dark but I was able to lift the blacks in post.

The hawk's expression appears to say, "I'll make use of that grill when you're done, just leave the lid off - thank you!" Seriously though, great shot.
