Cooper's Hawk

I was looking out the back window of the house, when, POOF, a cooper's hawk took a pigeon in mid air. Ate him in the back yard and paid me no attention with a clicking camera.
He is a handsome dude, this hawk

I agree they are very sleek and prominent looking. I watch one in a local park that harasses sparrows almost daily in thick vines. It just can't figure out how to get to them in their cover.

I walk in a large urban park and there are quite a few Coopers there. They eat whatever doesn't move fast enough.
