Copyrighting will do nothing to prevent theft.
You've had your (copyrighted) work stolen before, and it will probably happen again - regardless of whether or not you register it. I mean, if you've shown it online - you have no way of knowing how many people have right clicked it and 'saved as'.
The only way to prevent theft is to keep it off the internet.
Yeah, you could show small photos - too small to print, but people will steal those too, and probably try to print them as well.
