Costume pictures at the park

Not sure I'm a fan of 4pm on a cloudless day for light, but here are my best three. Any tips for finding good outdoor light? I love the light I had on that second one but her face was too dark in the pictures where she was looking up, but then I feel like the third might be just a touch washed out because we turned her to face the light?

You might want to try a flash or reflective panel. It can eases up the dark areas depending on the direction of a shadow. On the 3rd picture, you can increase the contrast a little bit.
