Kind of spooky in a Twilight Zone sort of way. How did you envision it?

What does the left third of the image contribute? The question is based on my assumption that what we see on the left is a footpath along the side of the road and not part of the road itself.

I like the vanishing point lines, but the image subject would be stronger if it were not centered.. (and yes I do realize you centered it for maximum effect)..

I kind of like the grainy film look, what it indeed film? or was that post processing?

I had found this vacuum cleaner a couple weeks ago in an abandoned house a few feet from this scene (which is 1.5 hours from my place). Once I got back home, I thought of this composition, with the vacuum in the middle of the road. So I went back to this area basically to make this shot. Why is this different than my original vision? I couldn't really put it into words... Judging by the results, it doesn't look like the trip back was worth it, but it did seem worth it when the shot was in my mind

Something that I'd do differently (if I had the chance) would be the positioning of the cable – I don't like it being all to the right of the vacuum cleaner... Perhaps first going to the left, then meandering to the right...

I wanted the vacuum centred. Neither side contributes much, other than context. I suppose a square crop (with the vacuum not centred) would work for me as well.

I think it's just a matter of taste. As long as my compositions are balanced or with good tension, I don't mind the subjects being centred or placed in unorthodox parts of the frame

It's digital, with the grain added in post
