The first thing i notice is that they are tilted...

They are both tilted, the first photo even if it wasn't tilted, looks too cluttered, there's too many items on that table, and my eyes are distracted by all of that.
The wedding cake shot is uninteresting as well, ,maybe if you had shot in the vertical position and displayed all of that cake? If you were going for the details of the flowers, you should have gotten closer and from different angle.
